Fishing Quotas and Shark Retention Limits Established for 2018 Atlantic Shark Commercial Fishing Season

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has set the 2018 opening date for all Atlantic shark fisheries, including the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean, and established quotas based on previous fishing seasons. The quotas will be adjusted throughout the year to ensure equitable fishing opportunities for commercial shark fishermen in all regions.
