Copyright Royalty Judges Rule on Sirius XM Rate Interpretation

The Copyright Royalty Judges have issued a ruling on a regulatory interpretation referred to them by the US District Court for the District of Columbia, addressing gross revenue exclusions for satellite digital audio radio services. The Judges found that Sirius XM correctly applied the regulation to pre-1972 sound recordings and incorrectly excluded certain revenues from its royalty base.
