PHMSA Sets 50% Random Drug Testing Rate for 2018, Updates Contractor Reporting Requirements

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has announced that it will require a 50% random drug testing rate for all covered employees in 2018, and operators must submit drug and alcohol testing information for contractors performing covered functions. PHMSA will also provide the user name and password for the Drug and Alcohol Management Information System (DAMIS) through the PHMSA Portal (https://portal.phmsa.dot.gov/pipeline) for 2017 reporting.
