EPA Proposes Revision to Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Sector References to Incorporate Latest Industry Standards

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to update the use conditions for three flammable refrigerants, isobutane (R-600a), propane (R-290), and R-441A, in new household appliances under the Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) program, in line with the latest edition of Underwriters Laboratories' industry standards.
