Southern Nuclear Operating Company, Inc. Receives NRC Exemption for Vogtle Electric Generating Plant Upgrades

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has granted an exemption to Southern Nuclear Operating Company, Inc. to deviate from certification requirements for the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant Units 3 and 4, allowing for changes to containment cooling and spent fuel pool makeup strategies.
