FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company to Receive Exemption from NRC for Modified Barbed Wire Fence Toppings at Beaver Valley Power Station

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has announced a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for a proposed exemption to allow FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company to use vertical barbed wire fence toppings in certain sections of the Beaver Valley Power Station, Units 1 and 2, in Pennsylvania, rather than the angled tops currently in use.
