US Nuclear Regulatory Commission Grants Exemption to Southern Nuclear for Vogtle Electric Generating Plant
The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has granted an exemption to Southern Nuclear Operating Company, Inc. to deviate from the certification information of the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant's (VEGP) Tier 1 design control document, allowing the company to proceed with License Amendment Nos. 139 and 138 for the plant's Units 3 and 4.
