U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Issues Environmental Assessment for WCS's Transuranic Waste Storage Request

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is issuing an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact to support WCS's request to store transuranic waste from the Los Alamos National Laboratory without a license, following a 2014 exemption and a 2018 request to extend storage time until December 23, 2020.
