FCC Increases Operating Costs for Carriers Serving Tribal Lands

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has increased the amount of operating costs that carriers serving Tribal lands can recover from the universal service fund, providing additional funding for voice and broadband services to Tribal customers. This change, effective January 1, 2017, aims to address the higher costs associated with serving Tribal lands.
