FCC Announces Approval for Copper Loop Retirement Rules

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has received approval from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to implement its rules for discontinuing copper loops by incumbent local exchange carriers for a period of three years, as outlined in the Technology Transitions et al. Declaratory Ruling, Second Report and Order, and Order on Reconsideration (FCC 16-90).
