FMCSA Denies Idaho's Request for Exemption from CDL Tester Bond Requirement

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has denied an application by the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) for an exemption from the requirement that third-party CDL testers maintain a bond to cover potential fraudulent activities. The exemption would have allowed Idaho to waive this bond requirement, but FMCSA deemed it would not have ensured a level of safety equivalent to the standard.
