U.S. Navy Requests Authorization to Take Marine Mammals Incidental to Low Frequency Active Sonar Operations

The U.S. Navy has submitted a request to the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) to take marine mammals by harassment while conducting Low Frequency Active (LFA) sonar operations, with the authorization period set to begin in August 2017 and end in August 2022.
