Environmental Impact Statement for Shawnee Fossil Plant Coal Combustion Residual Management

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) plans to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to assess the environmental effects of ceasing operations at the Shawnee Fossil Plant's special waste landfill and Ash Pond 2, and constructing a new dry coal combustion residual landfill. The EIS will evaluate the potential impacts of these changes and alternative disposal methods, including the No Action Alternative, to ensure TVA's compliance with EPA regulations.
