Record of Decision for Issuing a Presidential Permit to Minnesota Power

The U.S. Department of Energy has made a decision to issue a Presidential permit to Minnesota Power, a division of ALLETE, Inc., allowing the construction and operation of a new electric transmission line spanning 220 miles across the U.S./Canada border in northern Minnesota. The project, known as the Great Northern Transmission Line Project, aims to connect the Iron Range 500-kV Substation near Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
