National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute to Consider Exclusive Patent License for Nitrite Salts Treatment of Pulmonary Hypertension

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute is considering granting an exclusive patent license to United Therapeutics Corporation to commercialize nitrite salts for treating pulmonary hypertension, a condition classified by the World Health Organization as Groups 1-5.
