US Nuclear Regulatory Commission Grants Exemption to Southern Nuclear Operating Company for Vogtle Electric Generating Plant

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission has granted an exemption to Southern Nuclear Operating Company to deviate from the certification information of the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant's Tier 1 design control document, allowing for changes to the plant's construction and operation, as part of License Amendment No. 59 to Combined Licenses issued to multiple entities, including Georgia Power Company and the City of Dalton, Georgia.
