NRC Grants Exemption to Southern Nuclear for Vogtle Nuclear Plant Changes

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has granted an exemption to Southern Nuclear Operating Company, Inc. to deviate from the certification information of the Tier 1 generic design control document (DCD) for the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP) Units 3 and 4. This exemption is part of License Amendment No. 66, issued to the licensee, which includes Georgia Power Company, Oglethorpe Power Corporation, and other entities.
