NRC Grants Exemption to Southern Nuclear for Vogtle Plant Modifications

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has granted an exemption to Southern Nuclear Operating Company, Inc. to deviate from certification requirements for the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant Units 3 and 4, allowing for changes to the plant's Protection and Safety Monitoring System (PMS) cables in auxiliary buildings.
