FDA Withdraws Proposed Rule on Ibuprofen for Over-the-Counter Pain Relievers

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is withdrawing a proposed rule from 2002 that aimed to include ibuprofen in over-the-counter pain relievers due to new understanding of the medication. The FDA will keep a portion of the rule that requires consistent warnings for pregnant women and people with allergies.
