FDA Amends Color Additive Regulations for D&C Black No. 4

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has amended its regulations to allow the safe use of D&C Black No. 4 as a coloring agent for ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene non-absorbable sutures used in general surgery, following a petition from DSM Biomedical.
