Coast Guard Establishes Safety Zones for Block Island Wind Farm Construction

The U.S. Coast Guard is setting aside a 500-yard buffer zone around five locations in Rhode Island Sound where the Block Island Wind Farm will be built, from May 15 to October 31, 2016, to protect mariners from potential hazards during construction.
