Office of the Attorney General Clarifies Home Confinement Authority Under CARES Act

The Office of the Attorney General has issued a final rule allowing prisoners placed in home confinement under the CARES Act to remain in home confinement after the covered emergency period has expired. The Department of Justice has clarified the Director of the Bureau of Prisons' authority to extend the maximum home confinement period.
