US Department of Justice to Implement Tribal Reimbursement Program for Special Tribal Criminal Jurisdiction

The US Department of Justice will administer a new program to reimburse Tribal governments for expenses related to exercising special Tribal criminal jurisdiction over non-Indians who commit certain crimes in Indian country, as authorized by the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization Act of 2022.
