US Department of the Interior Proposes to Deny Recognition to Georgia Tribe of Eastern Cherokee, Inc.

The US Department of the Interior has announced a proposal to determine that the Georgia Tribe of Eastern Cherokee, Inc. does not qualify as an Indian tribe under federal law, citing insufficient evidence to meet the required criteria for a government-to-government relationship.
