Umpqua and Diamond Lake Districts, Umpqua National Forest, Oregon: Calf Copeland Restoration Project to Combat Wildfires

The Calf Copeland Restoration Project aims to restore the Umpqua National Forest by reducing the risk of uncharacteristic wildfires through a combination of timber harvest, non-commercial thinning, and prescribed fire. The project targets overstocked stands of young Douglas-fir and white fir that are threatening the forest's ecosystem.
