NMFS Makes Technical Amendments to Atlantic Highly Migratory Species Regulations
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is updating the regulations for Atlantic highly migratory species by revising restricted fishing areas and restoring a statutory limit on gillnet length, which was removed in 2012. The changes aim to improve the accuracy of cross-references, consistency of gillnet length limits, and dates on restrictions, without making any substantive changes to the regulations governing HMS fisheries.
