FMCSA Adopts Regulations to Prohibit Coercion of Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has adopted new regulations that prohibit motor carriers and transportation intermediaries from coercing drivers to operate commercial motor vehicles in violation of federal regulations, including hours-of-service limits and drug testing rules. The rule, authorized by MAP-21 and MCSA, establishes procedures for reporting incidents of coercion and imposes penalties on entities found to have coerced drivers.
