PHMSA Withdraws Proposal to Ban Flammable Liquid Transportation via Unprotected External Piping

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) is withdrawing its proposal to stop transporting flammable liquids in unprotected external product piping on cargo tank motor vehicles, as mandated by the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act (FAST Act). PHMSA will continue to explore methods to improve the safety of transporting flammable liquids by cargo tank motor vehicle.
