U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Denies Petition for Rulemaking on Programmable Logic Computers in Nuclear Power Plant Control Systems

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has denied a petition filed by Mr. Alan Morris, requesting that new-design programmable logic computers (PLCs) be installed in nuclear power plants to block malware attacks and that nuclear power plant staff be trained on the programming and handling of non-rewriteable memories.
