U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Grants Exemption for Optimized ZIRLO Fuel Rod Cladding Material at Southern Nuclear Plants

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has granted an exemption to Southern Nuclear Operating Company to use Optimized ZIRLO fuel rod cladding material at the Farley Nuclear Plant and Vogtle Electric Generating Plant, following a request made in March 2016.
