DEA Withdraws Proposed Rule on Schedule I Substances, Cancels Public Hearing

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has withdrawn a proposed rule to place five tryptamine hallucinogens in Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act, citing a need for an updated scientific evaluation and scheduling recommendation from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The public hearing previously scheduled for these substances has been canceled.
