Burke Museum Completes Inventory of Human Remains, Opens Door for Transfer to Lineal Descendants or Native Tribes

The Thomas Burke Memorial Washington State Museum, University of Washington, has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects, determining a cultural affiliation with present-day Native American tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. Lineal descendants or representatives of unlisted tribes can submit a written request to the Burke Museum for transfer of control.
