Final Regulations Released for Electing Out of Centralized Partnership Audit Regime

The IRS has issued final regulations allowing partnerships to opt out of a new centralized audit regime, which assesses and collects taxes at the partnership level, replacing the current rules governing partnership audits. The new rules apply to partnerships starting taxable years after December 31, 2017.
