FMCSA Requests Public Comment on Atwood Forest Products' Application for Rear-Vision Mirror Exemption

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is seeking public comment on Atwood Forest Products, Inc.'s application to exempt its commercial motor vehicles from the requirement of rear-vision mirrors in favor of a camera system. The proposed exemption would allow Atwood to conduct an evaluation study to assess the safety and economic benefits of eliminating outside mirrors on its vehicles.
