FAA Clarifies Helicopter Air Ambulance Operations Regulation

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has clarified the intent of the Approach/Departure IFR Transitions regulation, published in 2014, to improve situational awareness and enhance safety in helicopter air ambulance operations. The clarification aims to address concerns from industry stakeholders regarding the use of published instrument approaches and departures, as well as the visibility limitations of 'proceed visually' and 'proceed VFR' terms.
