FMCSA to Consider Exemption for RV Industry from Commercial Driver's License Requirements
The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) has requested a limited exemption from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to allow employees of U.S. driveaway-towaway companies, RV manufacturers, and RV dealers to transport certain newly manufactured motorhomes and recreation vehicles (RVs) without a commercial driver's license (CDL), provided the RVs meet specific weight and gross combined weight requirements. This exemption would aim to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness in the industry.
