EPA Proposes Technology-Based Pretreatment Standards for Dental Amalgam Discharges

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing technology-based pretreatment standards under the Clean Water Act for dental practices that discharge dental amalgam, a mercury-containing waste, into publicly owned treatment works, in an effort to reduce mercury pollution and protect human health.
