EPA Grants Exemption for FD&C Red No. 40 in Antimicrobial Pesticide Formulation

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of FD&C Red No. 40 in food-contact surface sanitizer products, allowing for a maximum level of 20 parts per million (ppm) in the end-use concentration.
