EPA Grants Tolerance Exemption for 2,5-Furandione Chemical

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted a tolerance exemption for 2,5-Furandione, a chemical used in pesticide formulations, allowing its use in food and feed commodities without setting a maximum residue limit. The exemption was granted after a petition from Lewis & Harrison, on behalf of International Specialty Products, under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA).
