Monetary Threshold for Reporting Rail Equipment Accidents/Incidents for Calendar Year 2015

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) has maintained the monetary threshold for reporting rail equipment accidents/incidents at $10,500 for calendar year 2015, citing abnormally high wage data from the second-quarter of 2014, which was influenced by retroactive wage increases from labor contract agreements. The FRA is reevaluating its method for calculating the threshold, which was last updated in 2005.
