NHTSA Amends Side Marker Requirements for Large Vehicles
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is amending the side marker requirements for vehicles 80 inches or more in width and less than 30 feet long, restoring the photometry requirements that were in place prior to the 2007 final rule. This change aims to allow manufacturers to avoid unnecessary modifications to their side marker lamps without compromising safety or functionality.
