NHTSA Receives Petition for Importation of Nonconforming 2008 Chevrolet Silverado Trucks
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has accepted a petition from a company requesting that model year 2008 Chevrolet Silverado trucks that do not meet all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards be allowed to be imported into the US, as they are substantially similar to US-certified vehicles and can be easily modified to meet safety standards.
