NHTSA Amends Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard for Trailer Tires

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has updated Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 110 to allow the installation of special trailer (ST) tires on new trailers weighing 10,000 pounds or less, and to exempt these trailers from a specific tire retention requirement during emergency stops.
