Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection Issues Final Rule on Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Regulation B) Amendments

The Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection is issuing a final rule to amend Regulation B, allowing creditors more flexibility in complying with the regulation, adding and removing model forms, and updating the regulation to collect information on mortgage applicants' ethnicity, sex, and race. This change aims to facilitate compliance with Regulation C and improve data collection for the purpose of enforcing equal credit opportunity laws.
