FDA Clears MEVACOR Tablets for Sale, Ends Withdrawal Process

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has determined that MEVACOR (lovastatin) tablets, 20 milligrams and 40 milligrams, were not withdrawn from sale due to safety or effectiveness concerns. This decision means the FDA will not initiate procedures to withdraw approval of abbreviated new drug applications (ANDAs) for these products.
