FDA Releases Draft Guidance on Characterization of UHMWPE Used in Orthopedic Devices

The FDA has made available a draft guidance document outlining the characterization of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) used in orthopedic implants, which will inform premarket submissions for these devices.
