FDA Releases Guidance on Advisory Committee Process for Sunscreen Innovation Act

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced the availability of a guidance document outlining the process for convening advisory committees to provide recommendations on nonprescription sunscreen active ingredients, as required by the Sunscreen Innovation Act (SIA). The guidance applies to requests submitted under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) and pending requests related to the safety and effectiveness of nonprescription sunscreen ingredients.
