U.S. Department of Defense Corrects Inventory of Native American Human Remains and Associated Funerary Objects

The U.S. Department of Defense has corrected an inventory of Native American human remains and associated funerary objects, originally published in a Notice of Inventory Completion in the Federal Register on August 29, 2002, to reflect the accurate number of associated funerary objects. Lineal descendants or representatives of eligible tribes can submit a written request to the U.S. Army to transfer control of these objects.
