U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Lists Lion Subspecies as Endangered and Threatened

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has determined that the lion subspecies Panthera leo leo and P. l. melanochaita are endangered and threatened under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, and is publishing a rule to implement conservation measures for the latter.
