U.S. Navy Seeks Authorization to Take Marine Mammals in Gulf of Alaska Temporary Maritime Activities Area

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has received a request from the U.S. Navy to take marine mammals in the Gulf of Alaska Temporary Maritime Activities Area from April 2016 to April 2021, as part of their training activities. NMFS is seeking public input on the Navy's application and request to develop regulations for the incidental taking of marine mammals.
